Oh I know it can. But doing so makes the car a lot less enjoyable as a street car. I'm starting to come around to the idea that a real race car might be a lot more fun, even if I just use it for HPDEs.

I've been kicking around the notion of a Factory Five 818C, but the NP01 might make more sense.

exactly, at the NASA events down here int he south east. there is a collection of drivers that own corvettes for the street but race something else. i'm apart of that little club lol. we normally park next to each other, beers ensue.

Real race car, even for HPDE, = safety. That is why I made the move from a '13 Z06 to an ASA/GTA car. No regrets!

There's a cool suit box/connector option.

Got to be a tiny cooler. Mine is almost 12" wide + hoses. I don't see the room in this cockpit

They are a great deal... I thought about it, but I knew my friends would never stop with the NASCAR jokes.

All kidding aside they appear to have amazing performance for a reasonable cost.

I'm sure you are having a blast with it

1:52 for the NP01 at the 25 hours of thunderhill qualifying. The race is going on now.

They are live streaming video on one of them also on race monitor and racecast. Both NP01's are way back in the field already. One turned a high1:51 in the race which is pretty fast, 3 sec off my st2 corvette.

I've been listening to the live audio broadcast on and off today.
They both have had problems and have had to come in for repair. One car lost a wheel.
Some guy on the hpde/racing section of the rennlist forum said that the 1:52 was at night and it ran 1:47's during the day in practice. The thing is in spec trim as well with the toyo rr tires.
Pretty impressive, but let's see if they make it the entire 25 hours. Such a badass race.

1:47 would be very fast. Any official confirmation?

Car looks good! Few things though. Is this a race only car or is it intended for HPDE also? The reason for asking is it looks like it will be faster than a radical and those guys tend to moan that everything else on track is slower than them and they are often held up. Terrible situation I know.

If it's for a race series can you confirm which one?

Why is the seating position not central? There doesn't look to be room for a passenger seat so why not mount in the middle?

Sorry if these questions have been answered. Not read the whole thread (yet).

It will not be faster than a radical with that HP. This also pretty much debunks 5 secs faster than a 991 Cup. That wont happen on any track from what we have seen.

According to race monitor there are 2 NP01's listed one has a fastest lap of 1:51 with a pro driver and the other a 1:55. A 997 cup has run a 1:47 and a Radical SR3 ran a 1:41 (not even an SR8). Still a great concept but the speed claims are unsubstantiated.

1:51 should be doable by a stock C7Z with a pro driver at Thill running the bypass.

Then again, the cost to track a Z06 isn't cheap and that pace you'll be going through brakes and tires quickly.

the Riley will destroy the np01, but that car is twice the price and twice the power.

we had one running out at Road Atlanta this weekend. bobby was just learning and set a time in the 1:37's not bad for his first outing. he said the car had a lot more time in it but he was just there to shake it down.

Yeah, I looked up the Riley. A new one starts at $225K. So more like three times the price.

Johnny, so you were able to see one of the NP01's up close and personal this past weekend?
