Default HPDE day at Mosport

Here is some video from a recent lapping day...gear indicator on my AIM display is off by 2 gears so 5 means 3rd etc.
This is a BMW and Porsche solo driver club day at Mosport.

http://www.canadiantiremotorsportpar...d-prix-circuit

It's a high speed track with long sweeping corners and a fair amount of elevation change.

I drive an 11 Carbon edition Z06. Mods are minimal, seat, harness, alignment and 18" wheels and Hoosiers. The car is well suited to the track and went quite well amongst the Porsches and BMW's.

Looked pretty tidy over here. The only thing that struck me as strange was how slow you were going through the back half of 4.

Thanks still working on my lines and speeds. 3rd track day in this new to me Z06. Are you suggesting I carry more speed up the hill to 5A?

In the context of 4 I would aim for about 170km/h through the top and a vmax of about 185 before braking for 5 (street tires).

5A is, imo, one of the few corners on the track where multiple lines work well so no real comments from me - I tended to early apex 4 and have the car wash out the exit of 4 and thus cut a tight 5A but not really convinced that is the right TT line.

you do realize that his speeds were in MPH NOT KPH?
so his speeds thru 4 were 170 kph (104 mph) at the top and 185 kph (115 mph)
lines look very good to me once you disposed of the Porsches and BMW's

I enjoyed that vid. Nothing like the sound and feel of the LS7 full bore.
I think you drove well as far as style. It takes practice to be smooth with that car. The throttle is touchy. It seemed like there was a bit of inconsistent tire noise when I thought the noise would be consistent. For example, in the beginning of the vid after getting the point by from the BMW, a corner or two later had that noise where there was an increase in tire load then it backed off then on again. Was that from the throttle inputs? After typing all that out, I'm thinking it must be from throttle inputs but its hard to tell on my phone.

probably 5 hours apart, but a fairly easy drive if you take the 407 toll road west around Toronto and the Rainbow bridge (DO NOT take the Queenston/Lewiston Bridge--this has the longest wait of the three bridges--1-2 hours on weekends) in Niagara Falls (worth sightseeing also!) then I-90 East to Seneca Lake and 20 or so wineries () on your way down to WG great little town on the southern shore of the lake.

Off to the Glen in a few hours for BMW-GVC midweek HPDE

If you want 2 days at Mosport, consider the Ontario Time-Attack series school and competition events.(Saturday school/lapping and Sunday competition). Your car, especially on Hoosiers, is plenty fast and with OTA, you won't be having to dodge slow going BMWs or Porsches as run groups are based on car speed. In the competition in the afternoon of the second day, you will not have to dodge anyone.

Lots of track time available for the weekend. Check out www.time-attack.ca

BTW Mosport is generally considered the fastest road circuit in North America and 3rd fastest in the world behind Monza and Spa.
