What is the exact c5z rev limit?
I think it's the same in all gears & it should be something like:
xxxx engage rev limit
xxxx resume throttle (or something like that)
with engage being a higher number.

C5Z hits the rev limiter at 6500 rpm. My 97 LS1 hit the rev limiter at 6250 rpm.

I should have been more clear, looking for fuel cut off.
I think its off @6589 and back on @ 6588 or something like that?
Anyone with a tuning device know? You can read it I believe with LSTUNE & such.

my numbers came from EFILive.
B3303: fuel cutoff limiters in gear. 1-4 fuel cutoff at 6600, back on at 6599. 5th gear fuel cut at 9000 RPM, ETC rev limit of 6600 RPM.

I have recorded through OBD2 in 3rd gear at the rev limiter up to 6698rpms. 2nd gear oscillates between 6550 and 6680 at the rev limiter which would match the 6600 fuel cut off.
This was on a hillclimb, so I would assume 6700rpm can be achieved on flatter roads.
Engine is completely stock on an 02Z (just new valve springs)

Lefrog brings up a good point with his datalogs though, it never happens exactly at the programmed values. In lower gears the car can accelerate quickly enough at times to sneak past 6600 RPM.

I didn't have the ***** to put 4th gear on that run (I finally did on the next one after I heard the rev limiter for too long on that run!). Full run with 4th gear is here:

Nice video and data. I know this is a bit off topic but I have been looking at OBD2 solutions for data acquisition and thought we could not do it on a C5Z. Are you able to get real time data on your Elm327 unit and see on screen or is it only after the fact with video editing? I am looking for something for track days and already have the same GPS unit as you do. It would be nice to integrate this with an app like Harry's Lap timer or something similar.
I am using RaceChrono for Android. You can pick the OBD2 channels you want to see. I usually get RPM, Speed, Throttle (these are fast channels that are sampled as fast as your phone/tablet can) and temps (coolant, intake, oil... are sampled at lower rates).
The nice thing with RaceChrono is that you can review you telemetry with GPS data right on the spot on the phone/tablet. No need to download to a laptop. The Pro version can merge the telemetry with the video of the phone if you record the video with your phone.
You can also use Torque on Android if you are just interested in the data without the lap timing features. Note that the OBD2 cannot be share simultaneously by multiple apps, you have to choose one that is going to do the reading.

Racekeeper also does well for integrated video and capture of GPS and ODB2 data from C5s.
