Default Trailer Tie Down Hooks for C7

What is the customary method to tie down a C7 Corvette in a trailer?

Not speaking about the floor mounted D-Rings, but the actual hooks that
bolt to the underside of the frame of the car.

I've used these on other cars; similar to the 45 degree style:

Not sure if these will work on a C7.

What are you guys using?

Thanks

Take a look at this thread. I'm sure the C7 has the same slots for tow hooks/tie down hooks as the C5 and C6. I use the ones in the picture in post# 2 and they work GREAT!!!

I had the opportunity to look under a C7 this morning at our tech inspection day.

The C7 has the same holes on the frame rail that the C5 and C6 uses for T-hooks that are used for tie-downs for transportation or where the "hockey pucks" would be placed when lifting the car. They are along the frame just in front of the rear wheels and behind the front wheels.

When using the typical J or T hooks, make sure that the ring will hold the hook on the strap. You should measure the distance from where the hook is inserted in the frame back to where the trailer D-ring is located. Chances are you will need tie-down straps at least 8 feet long. Also use straps with a gross weight rating of 10,000 lobs which will make the Working Load Limit 3300 lbs. The WLL is 1/3 the gross weight rating of the strap. The difference in price is very small between the 5000 lb gross strap and the 10K gross strap.

Don't forget to cross at least one pair of the straps when you tie the car down. Can't hurt to cross both sets!

Here's a better solution: wheel nets.

You bet. Wheel nets are the best way to lash any car to a trailer. Why would a Corvette be different?

Plus: instead of rolling around underneath the car, hooking up chains and t-hooks, and getting them crossed, you work on the outside of the car, with no worries about scratches.

Bonus: it takes less time too.

I use Macs tire nets as well, they work great with the E Track I installed in the floor. I gave my tire size when ordering and the net is custom made for my tire size and E track fastners. I have approx. 20K tow miles on them with no issues.
