Oh, forgot tire sizes... Up to 315 up front and up to 345 in the rear...

With the penske shocks we are under T-1 track records, pre 2013 rule change records..

I spent all day Friday at The Ridge Motorsports Park in this one. It's box stock just off the showroom floor. My job was to give rides and do ride alongs. The car wasn't pushed much over 80%, but it went all day long and the brakes were still there at the end. Stock Michelins aren't R compounds, but they did fairly well. I was impressed. Tires, brakes, seats, and belts will turn one of these into one heck of a track car.

I have 18's on the front and 19's on the rear for the time being. I know you can fit some seriously wide tires under the car, but it will limit steering movement for those wanting to get as much rubber under the car as possible.

The nannies will give you fits at a track with a lot of sweepers like Roebling Road. MTI and others have found a way to tune this out. MTI set a TT1 record at Roebling Road of 1:12.7 (or so) yesterday.

I would run it mechanically stock till you figure out the nut behind the wheel with the safety gear of your choice.

There were 2 guys at inde in AZ running C7's, both looked bone stock.

The guy with the Blue one had his PSS's run down almost to the chords.

The charcoal one was doing ok as well.

If so, what kind of mods and safety equipment are you running?

I'm an experienced HPDE driver (but not in a Corvette) and I'm interested in some weekend
track events with my Z51 C7.

Some things that come to mind are, harnesses & harness bar, R-Comp Tires & sizes, wheels,
brakes & pads, etc.

Would appreciate hearing what you guys are using.

Thank you.
I would advise, since you're in the area, that you give Joe Aquilante a call and/or stop over at Phoenix and have him show you his shop. It's quite an impressive place.

I would trust Joe's advice and know that he is an experienced Corvette race shop owner. He helped me with a problem on my car that took a lot of time and effort to fix, but it got done right.

You are going to want a Harness bar first and foremost, as you know on track saftey is the number one priority. There are quite a few harness bars out on the market already for the C7. Next, we went with four C5Z06 rear wheels (10.5") on all four corners, running Hoosier R6 315 30 18's. As for pads we are currently running Carbotech XP20's on all four corners. At Road Atlanta with this combination and aero package we have squeaked a 1:30.04. More HP will help on the back and front straight for time. We also recently broke and now own the track record in NASA TT2 at Roebling Road at a 1:12.7...

Here is a picture of our shop/track C7 going through T5 at Road Atlanta! Enjoy!

Very nice picture! Nice aero, tire & wheel setup. Looks like you tucked your 315 R6 Hoosiers nicely into the fenderwells. What offsets are your wheels front & rear? Any install or clearance issues? Thanks.

They are stock OEM GM C5Z06 4x10.5" (all rear wheels). No install issues and no clearance issues. Also no spacers are required to run this setup.

Does your wing bolt in place of the stock spoiler, so no more holes?

Just to confirm...so with just tires, Carbotechs, aero and a harness bar/harnesses you went a :12 at Roebling? At stock power and full weight? If so...holy crap that's moving.

Stock C5 Z06 wheels work in the rear too? I heard the suspension had clearance issues with 18"s? That is great, where in the world do you get those wheels? Are they still attainable or do you have to find them used.

I also am curious what oil your using in the car on the track.

Thanks for the link.
I ask because I regularly run Roebling (:22's in my stock GT500 on stock tires), and have lots of friends who do too...and :12's is flying for a lightly modded car on Hoosiers.

Would like to know how you are handling the TPMS question as well. Is it easier than the C6 ?
