Default Race Car and Trailer For Sale

Trailer is SOLD

Reluctantly John Brownlow is selling his 2003 Z06 race car.
Many on the forum will know this car from NASA events. Car # 557.

He’s asked me to post this on the forum for him as he has limited computer access and very little time.

Car is a 2003 Z06 currently with 20k on it, Millenium Yellow. Purchased as a street car and still has original title.
Currently has 2012 NASA ST2, SR2 and TTS approved log book. (2010, 2011).

Motor is a LS6 with 3 hours, upgraded (before being run) with a Katech oil pump, torquer cam, timing chain, valve springs and belt tensioner. Installed prior to 2012 Nationals and driven by Ken Smith at that event. I believe Ken ran a 1.30.8 and finished 3rd.
Car is very well sorted and very fast.

Tuned to 382hp with a weight of 3325lb (including a 200lb driver and 90lb of ballast) this brings the car to 8.70 : 1 (Mustang Dyno).
Based on the current NASA rules (of which I am not familiar) the car could be modded up or down to suit whatever class you wanted to run in. Same I guess for SCCA.

Here’s Johns list of mods.
Exedy single disk clutch w/aluminum flywheel.
Dewitt high capacity alum radiator (repositioned)
Rear mounted fan cooled differential cooler
Rear mounted fan cooled transmission cooler
Differential rebuilt 2011 and polished gears
Quiaffe rear differential
Transmission rebuilt by D & D in 2011 Polished gears etc etc
Pfadt carbon fiber driveshaft
LG Coil Overs (bilstien /hypercoil)
LG Longtube Headers & X pipe (no cats)
Borla Straight pipes
LG tunnel support
Performance AFX Cage (Nascar bars driver/passenger)
Performance AFX Fire suppression
Pfadt Spherical upper/lower control arm bushings (new)
GM T1 bars (front/rear)
PowerGrid Adjustable Sway Bar Links (front/rear)
AP Racing Front 6 piston calipers (2-piece rotors)
GM Z06 Front calibers in rear (2-piece rotors)
Stainless steel brake lines (all 4)
Doug Rippie front brake cooling duct kit
2 sets CCW C-14 18" wheels (11.5" front 13" rear)
1 set Nuringburg 18" (11.5)
SKF racing hubs (all 4)
LG 67.5" rear world challenge carbon fiber wing w/ custom mounts
Blackdog Racing carbon fiber nose and splitter (2.5")
ACP world challenge carbon fiber vented hood
Phoenix front and rear tow hooks
Sparco sport cup seat (FIA approved) new installed but unused
Sparco quick release steering wheel
Race Pak G2X GPS data system
Chase Cam Digital Video Recorder
Coolsuit system

The fabrication and all the mechanical work was performed by Greg Dansbury (P & M) and it’s beautifully crafted with great fit and finish.

Car is for sale at $39,750.00.

There’s a spares package available that’s negotiable and we’re still inventorying this, however it contains a rebuildable complete LS6 motor, tires etc. etc.

The car is currently in Grand Rapids, MI.

The weather here in MI has prevented the taking of the interior pictures but here’s a few of the exterior.

Also avaiable: Waiting on pics

24’ v-nose all aluminum Rance Renegade enclosed trailer. Very very light weight. Custom built for John in 2010.
Built in tire racks (both sides carry 4 wheels each). Built in Warn winch, cabinets, work area, internal and external 110v plugs, 25’ plug, twin 5K axles, 3 -5 gal fuel canister rack and 3 ton jack holder, two roof vents, spare tire/wheel, rubber floor, 4 -4’ 2 bulb florescent lights.

For sale at 12.5k.

Car and trailer are available as a packaged deal with of course a discount for buying both.

I’ll answer any questions I can and provide pics when they become available, I can also put you in touch with John directly and/or Greg. Both very busy guys, hence my involvement!

PM me here on the forum or my email is tourmgr1@yahoo.com
Thanks Brian.

This is a very nice car, Greg has done a great job prepping this car. It's got all of the go fast bits you could want.
For those of you who don't know Greg - he works on the factory Cadillac CTS-V World Challenge GT cars for Pratt & Miller and brings that knowlege to set-up John's car.
Ken's TT laps have been real close to what Forbis and Sawtelle have been putting down the past two years. (There are only 3 or 4 TTS/ST2 Corvettes that have ran 1.30.xx at Mid-O and this is one of them.)
This is one of the best developed ST2/TT2 cars in the country and it would easily cost twice what he's asking to rebuild this car.
I hate to see John selling it as we have had a lot of fun hanging out with him at the track the past 3 or 4 years - he brings the Patron
Heck I remember running on track with John and Gingerman when this this was still a street car!
Anyone looking for a top of the line ST2/TT2 car, it's hard to beat this deal!

Thanks for the kind words I know John appreciates them.
I still have no pics of the trailer except this one (not the best!) from a wet 2011 Nationals.
The car only put on 3 hours in 2012.

A few additional things about this car. Both the wing and splitter are adjustable. The wing has both angle and height adjustments. The car since the aero package and other upgrades has never really had a test session to find the best setup for it. The car has been fast right off the trailer but there is probably some left in it as is. I really hate to see it go as I have more ideas for it. If anyone has any questions about it Brian can get a hold of me. I don't always have time to check PM's and work has been keeping me busy.

Still available, we've had a couple of interested parties but I wanted to bump this back to the top.
Thanks Greg (6speedZ) for jumping in and helping everyone understand how developed this car is.
Buying a "race car" is one thing but buying a fully developed one as this car is will save time and much money.
Buy and drive knowing you have a truly front running car.
Thanks.

That is true there have been only a few TTS/ST2 cars to run in the 1:30s at Mid Ohio, I ran this car at Nationals in 2012 and finished just out of the money with a 1:30.8xx. Keep in mind I didn't know I was going to run the car until about a week before the event, I did have one set of Sticker Tires but the 2 rears were from 2009, one front was 2010 and one was 2012. So with a fresh set of tires (as most people would have been running but anyone that knows me knows I make bad decisions from time to time) & a more experienced driver (keep in mind Sawtelle and Forbis both have at least 3-4 times more track time than I do& years more experience behind the wheel as Geoff said with a driver with any talent could have won Nationals easily with this car & as Geoff said a 1:29 is very doable. (well if Geoff isn't out there parking his car in front of you on your flyer )

Here is a Video of the car in action

FYI That Blue Corvette in front of me is your 2012 ST2 National Champion, as you can see the car is competitive

If you do buy the car I will be happy to co-drive with you until you learn everything I have to teach you, figure about 2 sessions
