Default HD Video: Corvette's Very Hot Cousin hitting Auto Club Speedway

Check out this video of the D3 Cadillac Research & Development's Competition CTS-V with a supercharged 427 under the hood. I'm a total Corvette guy (09 Atomic Orange Vert) but shooting and editing this video showing the owner of the D3 Cadillac R & D CTS-V driving his car through it's paces at Auto Club Speedway sure makes me want to take the Cadillac for a spin or two around the track too!

Gary Torres' D3 CTS-V was turning 1:51 lap times on the "Roval" at ACS but the car still has more speed left in it. The stock water pump went south during the third session on the track the day we were there. Plans are to replace the stock part with a Mezier electric water to keep the 1000 hp 427ci water temp under control.

Let us know what you think of the video my Corvette brothers.

Interesting. I assume that car is equipped with some sort of differential cooler? I couldn't even get 1 20-minute HPDE session in with my stock '09 CTS-V before the differential temp warning started popping up.

It sure does, it has coolers for everything on this CTS-V. The stock differential has been replace with a much stronger unit that can handle the 1000hp (at the crank) of this 427 small block.

The sound of this car is so awesome when it's on the gas, don't you agree?

Sure does, but it's so ridiculously far from stock at this point that it doesn't really count as a CTS-V. It's a race car that just happens to look like one.

The stock LS6 engine, manual 6 speed transmission and IRS differential are long gone. None of these stock items could handle the output of 1000 hp. Here is the list of the upgrades installed in to this CTS-V.
