Hehe...I need EVERYTHING at this point! Just trying to work deals, find used stuff, try not to pay through the nose for everything....otherwise, I will be poor fast! Well.....faster....

I hope to get the cage/firewall/drivers compartment done in the next few weeks and get the better part of the body on.

Yes it gets expensive fast. Now you know why I could not sell mine the way it was. I have ordered my missing engine parts for the race motor so I will be putting that and installing it very shortly and hopefully hear it run soon. Good luck and if you need anything let me know.

OK...so here we go with the latest batch after a week or so at the fab shop:

...just CANNOT get the main hoop any higher!

WHAT door bar???

Fabbing in a BIG *** seat...

the angle makes it look like the seat is outside of the cage, and the wing of the seat is a bit, but the head area is well inside cage.

Rear bars...

Still will have a cross bar across the pick up points and some smaller forward bracing

Look ma....a steering system, pedals and a FIREWALL!!!

Dropping the motor in temporarily on Friday to get the front bars squared away...more to come.

Thanks for the tip! I cut out the floor under the seat completely and will put a sheet of steel under there. The seat is mounted as far as it can go low wise because of this...mucho bracing too...I have a NEWFOUND interest in solid seats!

Yep that's the other option... cut the floor out 100% and re-do it. Running with NASA you can't modify the floor and stay in TTA/PTA. I had to get a special waiver to notch mine like I did. Cutting it out and replacing wouldn't be allowed.

You are definitely going to make it on the track before me...

I should be putting in my cage this month instead of going to the Petit....

Look ma! I can get my WHOLE arm behind the motor!

No header clearance issues:

Motor is in for the front bar fabrication and steering clearance. I think the major fabrication will be done this week and it will head home for me to finalize the body mounting on the car. Then back to the fab shop in a month or two for fabbing misc. tabs/body mounts/etc and the soon to be ordered nose/splitter/hood.

Really like the custom firewall and cowl... opens it up big time. Will you be running power brakes?
