First runs in C5Z's are in first thru third, Matthew is in fourth in the loti (if he's still driving it) Viper and GT3's are all in there.. Very interesting..

So he returned to the dark side, at least for the Pro weekend.
That's right. I forgot about that. My co-driver, Steve Burger, still talks about when he beat Matthew back in the day using his 86 Vette.

Run 2 done, Matthew is in first, GT3 second, C5Z (Mr Shay doing a great job) in third about .4 behind Matthew, and a Viper in fourth.

Have to wait a half hour to see the big guns running at the end of the heat, but the "usual suspects" are where you would have expected them to be at this point...

Matthew is in the Elise. As I was told, they had it repaired around 7 PM last night.

Also, Mike "Junior" Johnson has a nice 0.6+ second lead in ASP, in a C6 Z06. Four of the top five are either C5s or C6s.

Default All over but the crying

Matthew wins it again, Kevin Dietz did well, but was 1.5 seconds out of first. He just brought a knife to a gunfight..

Thought GJ would do better but it looks like he had trouble with an early DNF and then cones..

Good finish for Chris too, congrats all...

It's amazing to me people are putting down championship winning times on their first runs.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the huge amount of rubber that builds up on ones tires at Lincoln. I scapped a coffee full of track rubber off my Hoosiers after the Midwest Divisionals. Seems to be worse on 2 driver cars and anyone who gets off line.

I mostly meant that I'm amazed that the drivers are that fast in their first run on the course. That's something I can't yet do.

Duke Langley took fourth in SSM in a C4 (1990) and his wife took first in SSML!

Did anybody else notice that ASP was slower than SS by a bunch?

I know that it's a matter of different days, but Junior (who is a great driver) wouldn't have trophied in SS

It looked like the one day time is a bit out of whack, but does anybody know what was the reason?

It was damp/drying for ASP, SS had a better track.

It rained both days. Thursday it rained during 3rd runs in ASP (light mist), Friday I think it rained near the end of first heat and was drying as the day went by.

No, it was in a CS Miata.

I might agree with that except Rhoades ran within 0.2s of Braun in the Viper on day 2 and that was the tighter, more transitional west course. Unless people believe the heavier, even larger Viper is faster as well?

Oh yeah, Steve Telehowski's silver car.

IIRC, Matthew was first, Steve second. The next year, Steve wouldn't let Matthew drive his car (just guessing at that but who can blame him) and Steve came first.

When Matthew won AS in his '93 Z07 I remember thanking him for making my '92 Z07 worth more...shoulda sold it then!

You're right; I forgot about the Telehowski Miata . . . it just seems like a long time since Matthew's driven his own car.
