Default Autobahn GT Race Video

This video was taken from my 1999 FRC, using GoPro HD mounted on the dashboard and roof. The race was held on the South course (2.1 miles), with 18-laps. There were 15-cars in the race, and 7-cars in my class.

I didn't post the entire race. The first 6-laps or so (we were running 1:30.0X) were pretty good, but then I ran a bunch of laps with 4-7 seconds gap in front of me.

The new GT race group is 'fun', and similar to a SPO class in SCCA. The cars are all different, with varying HP/TQ numbers. My car has a 'stock' LS6 motor with 340HP at the rears. I'm competing against Porsche CUP cars, ASA Stock cars, BMW's, etc. I was the only Corvette in the group.

Next race is October 17th I think. If the forum likes these video's, I'll post as they occur.

Great video with interesting perspective.... facing rear wards. It took me a while to figure out where you were on track.

I'm going to ACC on Sunday Monday with Chin. I'm going to have to watch a video facing forward to counteract the effect of this one.

I would like to see more videos.

Officially, and as of this writing, the car is still in the STOCK LS6 vintage . . . but the crate has been opened, and parts are being assembled. Another 10-days or so, and I should have a little help in the 'straight-aways'.

Nope, it's in perfect working order. Know anyone who might want to buy a slightly used LS6?

Cool vid Don - I really enjoyed watching it! For me it is a really cool perspective to watch the line looking out the rear of the car. Was there contact when he spun, or just "near contact"? Thanks for posting!

I can't figure out why some drivers, push so hard to pass another in places where they obviously can't complete the pass. The way the ASA car driver was pushing I thought he was going to crash, although he didn't crash, he did make contact which lead to his spin. That could have be worse for both. I guess I don't have a racers mentality. The video was
