I lined that video up alongside the Hans Stuck lap:

and watched four-odd minutes of the 'race". I don't think the gap between them changed by more than two seconds over that whole period. And Stuck had a bit of traffic.

I wonder what record it was that the Radical broke??

I have the same question since the ZR1 did a 7:26 and this lap is around 7:38.

The guy is really flying, though he clearly could use more HP.

A Radical does hold the current record, but as is evident probably not this specific run in the video. Here are the top ones up to the ZR1.

1. Radical SR8LM 6:48 182 ´ 455 / 650 Michael Vergers

4. Donkervoort D8 RS 7:14.89 (IFC) 171 ´05 350 / 600 Michael Duechting
5. Radical SR3 Turbo 7:19 (IFC) 169 ´03 320 / 500 Phil Bennett
6. Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR 7:22.1 (FC) 168 ´08 600 / 1536 Motor Trend

ageed he is just hanging out waiting for the last big straight to end.....

nohtning like using the rev limiter as a shift fpoint erlyer,, hell of a drive... I would never rember all those turns shift points breaking spots....

GREAT Video! Thanks!!

The lap record for the Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit still stands at 6:11:13 by Stefan Bellof in a 956 Porsche -1983.
Bellof was killed in 1985 at Spa trying to pass Jackie Ickx (962), on the outside, at the top of Eau Rouge.
FWIW.

A few years ago BMW F1 engineers had done simulation data, saying that their F1-06 could run ~ 5:15 (147 mph average)

I remember seeing something similar a while ago but couldn't remember which team it was or what time they predicted.

49mph on the Carousel!!! Dang, I knew it was slow, but that means that I would probably take it about 25mph

What's with all the paint on the track I know on my motorcycle, just touching a painted line is a major loss of traction/stability.
