Everyone remembers the scary and horrible fire at Long Beach with Boris behind the wheel of our GT2 Corvette. I am happy to announce that the car is going back together now and will make it's first appearance at the Corvette's of Carlisle show then onto Watkins for it's first shake down runs before Atlanta.

Louis stripped it down at Riley right after Sebring 2008, this is the first time since then that it has been this far apart.
We stripped it down to basically suspension and wiring after Sebring in '08, then flipped it to correct the floor flatness, but did not have time to completely strip it and paint it like this. We are allowed 5mm deviation from a pure flat bottom
Cool, good to see the car coming back together. Now for some sponsorship!
How much longer does the chassis have on its homologation? And can Riley re-homologate/update the car/chassis/design and extend its homologation life (ACO) as long as it is in production?
Wow, that's so sick Lou. The tank must be the dry sump.
What's the total weight(wet) without driver?
Glad to see you getting it back together.
Go get 'em.
Mike
Hi,
Yes, that is the dry sump tank. The car has to weigh 1220 kg with no fuel and no driver. that is 2684 lbs. This will be the absolute first time it will be exactly down to min weight. We were close before but this time we should need a little balast.
We will keep you all updated as the car goes back together. It will be at Corvettes of Carlisle in 5 weeks. Stop by if you can make it.
The homologation is all ACO is still being worked on. GM originally granted the GT2 Homologation to Riley then they changed their mind when they were forced due to not enough bail out money to run GT2.
So Gm pulled their promise on the FIA homologation but that is supposed to change now that they are pulling out of most racing around the world. So Riley is working on the FIA part as we speak.

Too bad it won't be together in time to run up at Road America. With the power you have, I would think the long straights might play to your strength. (But I may be completely wrong, I'm just a fan of road racing with a Corvette in the garage)
