Default Good place to buy Hoosiers

First I want to thank Bowmanized for quoting some amazing pricing on Hoosier tires. Unfortunately, shipping anything of that size and weight to the east coast from the west is going to be expensive, but they really came in with some amazing pricing on the tires themselves. You west coast guys have a great vendor to work with!!

For the east coast folks, I found a vendor outside Chicago that sells Hoosiers VERY cheap (new that is) and ships free (at least to NJ). I can tell you that it was a large enough difference from Tire Rack or even Hoosier direct. I saved something like $200 over tire rack AND got free shipping via Fed-ex ground 3 day. The best thing was the guy was willing to negotiate a deal. So, in the spirit of this great forum, I just wanted to share my findings.

Not that much different, but free shipping counts for something:

A6s:
295/35/17 $296 vs. $299
315/30/18 $329 vs. $331

So we save $10 on the tires and $50 on the shipping. Every bit helps.

For the Hoosier R6, C6Z06 OEM sizes, racetirerack 1,172.00 total
tirerack 1,384.00 total
I didn't see racetirerack offering a heat cycle service

Good prices or not, they lose purely based on the awful background music that can't be turned off on their site!

I spoke directly to Hoosier and they said the roller based heat cycling does not put enought heat into the tire to do an effective heat cycle.

So save your money and do it yourself on a real car on asphalt.

Give Eric Frisby at Frisby Tire (www.FrisbyRaceTire.com) a call for the Hoosiers.

BTW, they also have good ethics. One of the 4 tires I bought from them was ruined by Fed-ex during shipping (neither their or my fault) and I called and before I could even send the old one back, they had a new one at my door.

Reputable folks to deal with. I also beleive they will be at the Katech track day providing tires as well.

I just purchased 4 315/30/18s from "Race TireRack". The price difference with Tire Rack wasn't that much but I did get free shipping which is worth something nowadays. The tires were shipped directly from the Hoosier plant in Indiana and I received them in two days. I was actually surprised when the FedEx guy showed up at the door on Saturday since I wasn't expecting the tires until Monday. Leo called me to tell me the shipping info and called back later to see if I had received the tires and if I was satisfied. Since none of the local Hoosier Dealers could even come close to the price Leo gave me I have recommended his company to other racers in my Corvette Club.

I went to this web site too. I run Firefox and my web browser did not like this site, needed adobe flash to load site.

No offense, Flash, splash, redirect or music on web pages turn customers off.

Web sites need to LOAD fast on all browsers, not just MSEx

I just ordered several sets of Hoosiers from these guys and everything went well. The tire price is a few bucks cheaper than TireRack and there is no shipping charge. Lee was good to work with and the tires were delivered pretty quickly.
