This is a soon to be track car that we had to get running for this gentleman today. I have never even heard of this kit before. After if finally started up he drove it home and it sounded great. I was suprised to find out that it is lighter now then when the stock engine was in it. Just double the horsepower. What a sleeper.

I believe you've found the only car that could possibly piss a PCA guy off more than a fast C5.

Love the HVAC sheet metal elbow on the intake.

He's not going to show up in ST2 at VIR is he?

Looks like the motor is not only in the wrong end of the car, it's pointed in the wrong direction.

That has to sound just nasty, and must have taken a fair amount of massaging

Actually the elbow is a really nice aluminum fabricated piece, it is not HVAC tubing. The engine is turned around backwards and the intake is facing the front/bolted on the engine backwards.
I don't know where he is going with it, but where ever it is going it will be fast. The owner said the car was 200lbs lighter now with the LS6 vs the original engine that came out. I would image massive understeering but point that thing in a straight line and even the Corvettes will have something the worry about.
The Porsche guys what can I say, he told me that the Porsche place he gets parts from was not very happy about this car. I think it is awesome, to make a Porsche fast it needs a Corvette engine.

That car is truly a beast !! An LS6 will make that thing screaming fast in a straight line. How is the handling ? If the car is 200 LBS lighter it should be more biased towards neutral than before. Is he running the stock P car transmission ?? How will that handle the torque ??

I've been in one with an LS6. I believe the comment I made when my buddy got on the gas was something like "HOLY ****"

How is it possible for a V8 to be 200 pounds lighter than a flat 6? They're both predominantly aluminum engines. And, the c/g height has to be higher on this setup. I honestly don't understand why this setup wouldn't be an even worse oversteering machine than a stock 911.

Clue me in, guys.

Shame on you Jabbott,

You ruined a perfectly good LS6. Have you no morals? No standards?

Just kidding! What an amazing project. If someone asked if that could be done...I'd say no.

The one my buddy was working on had some massive cooling issues. Don't know if they ever got it fixed.

Actually I did not build it, this gentleman came into our showroom today and said he had this car with an LS6 in it and can't get it to run. I told him to bring it in and I would throw the Tech2 on it and see what we came up with. He had not driven this car in a year and half and has spent the last 7 months trying to figure out what was wrong with it. It did take about 5 hours of work, but he drove it home. (With the trailer close behind) The car had a huge aluminum radiator in it so I don't think cooling will be an issue. It also had a Meziere remote electric pumps due to the fact the stock pump will not fit in the engine bay.
I would have thought the same about the weight, but the owner said there was a ton of metal parts all over the engine bay and the engine itself was pretty heavy. I was actually really impressed with his work, because when I first saw the car I was thought there was no way there is an LS6 in that, he must not know what he is talking about. The crazy thing is this car is not all hacked up, you would never know looking at the car if the hood is closed. He spent some money getting the factory gauges to work and it is a really neat car. I feel sorry for a any Vette owner who pulls up next to this that is in stock trim because this car is a beast.
Actually again surprised the car is pretty quiet. Another reason someone who races this thing will have a rude awakening. Makes me want to try this with a old beetle. Can you even imagine the look on someones face when you literally leave them by many many car lengths.

The cooling thing was in Phoenix. In the summer. Other climates might not be so nasty. The thing my buddy worked on also had a big ass radiator. I think renegade hybrids put it together, and I'm pretty sure it had a custom ron davis radiator in it.

And yes, it was seriously a beast. My buddy thought my 01 was faster, but I think hes wrong, that thing was flat ****ing nasty.

Well I have not driven it yet. He is supposed to bring it back for some work now. We don't work on anything except for Corvettes, but technically we are working a Corvette engine right. If he lets me drive it well see, but I don't like riding with anyone, they always like to see how fast there car goes with you in it.

I ran across the website of a guy that did these types of conversions a couple of years ago. He actually had a side by side picture of the flat 6 next to the LS1 out of the car, both with power trains attached. The LS was actually smaller which was his way of saying it was also lighter.
