well maybe not
After breaking 2 diffs with in 6 runs I knew I had to do something.. I spoke to a few different shops to find out what my options are..
option 1... Go with an unproven zr1 diff and hope that it holds up..
option 2... Go with a solid axle and race my *** off..
option 3... Stay with the c5 IRS, detune and run the 10.0 index..
With my personality an addiction I knew I would not be happy with anything but a solid axle..
The next step was to decide on a shop that would give me the finest quality and customers service out there.. After talking to Bobby Carroll at Carrols Rod n Racecraft and seeing his shop my decision was made..
Here are a few pics of the build..

Drifting
*sigh*
Well, not everyone likes to turn corners. To each their own. I will say there are faster ways to go drag racing on less money than a Corvette. There are few more cost effective cars in the road course environment than the Corvette, however.

I personally never understood why anyone would want to use a Corvette as a drag car...
It is such an expensive way to go fast for that application. You can buy a 1988 Ford mustang LX, drop in a a 351 with nitrous and your in the 10's. Heck you could probably go that fast with a 5.0 if you did it up right. I guess if you love vettes, you gotta use a vette, but you could go just as fast in something that cost 1/3rd the price and leave your vette as the nice street car.
In road racing though, the Corvette IS the bargin $$$ car which relative to it's speed, which is why I have continued with them. You could spend equal or more money running BMW's Porsche's and not be nearly as fast

The whole idea of going drag racing with a car that has both an IRS and a low center of gravity perplexes me.
