How Is Your C6ZO6 Holding Up ??????

After two seasons in my 2006 I rarely get more than 270* oil temps during the summer. I keep the oil fresh and don't feel the need to use every single RPM - its no fun to blow away a poor little Porsche in the straights, I'd rather do it through corners where its saying something.
Also, I keeping an eye on the chassis per my earlier comments on the aluminum frame - plus I've been considering replacing the stock bushings with something better.
How much time does it take a mechanic to do all 4 corners plus the sway bars? Is there a downside to doing this on a mixed track/street use car? Anybody done it yet?

^ I have VB&P poly bushings in my C5Z. The ride is firmer and even harsh over bumps. Also there is some squeeking at times. It is the nature of the beast. I'm installing Koni FSD schocks to bring back some of the street manners.

I'm still curious about the aluminum frame. Why didn't Corvette Racing use it for the C6.R? Also, why did the C6.R use coil overs while they still put tranverse leaf springs on the production car? I'm not saying that the transverse leaf springs are bad by any means, but if it's so good, why don't they use it on their race car?
I'm still baffled by the padlet thing. I think that was a really poor move by GM.
Did LG start with Z06's for his WC cars? I would think that he'd use a C6 for it because he totally rebuilt the car anyway.

Look on the wbe site of LGM and pictures aer or were their.
Cage for a aluminum frame is a lot more than a weld in cage.

Even a harder rubber would be perfect (do you hear us LG/PDFAT/VBP) I used poly in my C5Z all the way around and no matter what, will never put them on my C6Z. I lucked out and found someone who understood the benefit of poly, when I sold my 01Z, but I spent several sleepless nights worrying who was going to buy my squeeking nightmare.

Do you have to buy the whole T1 suspension package or are they available seperately?

C6z06 totally stock powertrain and suspension is more than adequate for any DE type use. You don't need any of the junk listed in this thread. As mentioned the problem areas are brake pads and rotors. This coupled with more expensive wheels and tires will make a new z06 a bit more expensive to run than the c5.

I agree. The general didn't develop a race car for $70k (or even $100k on the ZR1). They developed a street car that kicks a#$ in light to moderate track use. The shortcommings related to the allpresent street/track compromise start popping up with heavy & hard use.

I would like to get rid of the slop and lack of connectedness in my C6Z. I think some of the suggestions in this thread have the potential of doing this.
By the way, smokin' laptimes. Stock Z's rarely find their way into the 2:10's.
