Winter Vacation National-SCCA Sebring ---Jerry Onks wins !!!
Just saw on mylaps the Sebring results.
http://www.mylaps.com/results/newResults.jsp?id=714898
Jerry Onks wins, John Yarosz sets new track record @ 2:21.1xx, Jerry Onks 2:21.2xx, Engle-engine oiling problems on new LS3 in practice ( ). Dr. Onks said on the phone that Yarosz experienced the "reduced engine power" message during the race while leading.
Congratulations Dr. Doo-little (Jerry).......Keep it up next week !!!!!

Way to go Jerry! Saw that on the other Forum. Is that a miss print on the track record though? Heinrocket shows having it with this.

You are probably right about the record Aaron, I just saw at the bottom of the mylaps link that it was a new record (????) . I think that Yarosz ran a 2:19.xxx in qualifying though.

John Yarosz 2:19.917
I still hate that the records have to be set during the race instead of either or. I usually have better qualifying times since I am used to bonzi runs.
I fly out for Homestead Thursday to work so I will see the boys there.

Congratulations Jerry,
Not bad for the "old wreck...."
Good job for Koni doubles and Hawk...
Congrads again...
PL @ Van Steel
FYI, SCCA has separate Race and Qualifying track record system... Yarosz and Onks were under the race record while the qualifying record was not set this weekend...

A beautiful weekend down at Sebring (especially in light of the 14 deg. F weather we left behind up north!).
It was a tough start for the T1 field on the Friday test day, as two cars had some problems that forced them out for the remainder of the weekend, so the field for qual and race was just four of us.
Saturday morning qualifying showed a very tight field, but Saturday afternoon Yarosz smoked us all with a fantastic 2:19. I turned my 2:22 on my second lap in the afternoon before a brake failure resulted in me having to pull off- bummer!
On the pace lap for the race, my car started filling with smoke- lots of it! I made a great start, got up to Yarosz by turn 1, but the car was loose as hell. It turns out that the bumpy Sebring course, combined with some errant oil line placement, had resulted in some oil line chaffing, which finally started to wear all the way through on the pace lap (why can't this stuff happen on the test day??). Oil was leaking onto the exhaust, and blowing back on to my rear tires.
Yarosz was pulling away from the field, I started to "slide" back, and just hang on with a slick car, and it looked like Jerry Onks and Bob Kahn had a great race! Than John had a stupid TPS code set that put his car into limp mode- talk about bad luck! It eventually fixed itself, so he could at least get the finish, but not the result that John deserved.
I also wanted to say what a pleasure it was meeting Jerry Onks and his wife- we were paddocked next to them and they are super nice folks! Also thanks to Randy Papa for helping me out and busting his tail all weekend!
Fun weekend! Looking forward to Homestead next week!

Safety Car
I had the TPMS failure and reduced power at a track day and it was scary enough then without somebody 2 inches off my bumper... we really need to document the procedure to turn that off...

I heard......"needs a new motor"......yooouuuwwwcch !!!!! I wonder if Generous Motors is going to warranty that one, especially with the added components to the oiling system. Very first race...bummer for Chris.
