I know what you mean about the loss of run off area. I believe I was flagging station 8 when #381 spun and hit the tires there. Most drivers hated to see the loss of run off area. The best move now is not to fight to make the turn if in trouble, just go straight towards station 9 and let the grass and hill slow you down.

Now you surely know that the old "red mist" syndrome keeps very many drivers from ever admitting defeat and giving up a corner. "I've got it. I've got it. Thud! I don't got it..."

on all these types of polls, I always see Road Atlanta at the top of most peoples lists. I live close enough, I guess I'll have to make a visit.

I have to admit, I'm a big fan of Infineon and Laguna Seca on my Playstation 2.

Play station is a 2 on a 1 to 10 scale for really being on both tracks. Take a road trip

One of the things that all the racing sims have gotten wrong on Road America and what surprised me the most was the elevation drop heading into turn 5. The rest of the track seemed "deja vu" familiar after seeing several races on tv and playing several sims, but that elevation drop surprised me. It's not like I was afraid of the elevation drop, but it just seemed so different to me from a driver's perspective.

I can't imagine what the corkscrew is like at Laguna Seca. It looks steep on tv and in the game sims.

What are your top three tracks you have driven or raced on?

1. Watkins Glen
2. Road Atlanta
3. Limerock (dunno why, but I just love that track)

and what 3 tracks would you LOVE to drive on, and Take Your Car to that track? Track and distance North America only please.

1. Road America - 1000 miles
2. VIR - 300 mile
3. Laguna Seca - 2600 mile

I did drive, in '04, from Atlanta to CA in my 92 SHO and ran an HPDE at our national SHO club meet at Thunderhill (great track). Hauled 4 R tires/wheels in the trunk/back seat, even had room for the wife and her 600 lbs of luggage. Did 6400 miles in 13 days, taking a little time off in CO on the way back. Good fun. My SHO had 215,000 miles then to, on the original yamaha motor.

Road Atlanta is in my backyard (literally). 3 miles from the track...great being that close to a great track, and one reason I bought the land I did. lol.

So:
1. BIR
2. TBD
3. TBD

and for wish to drive:
1. Nurburgring's Nordschleife (ouch)
2. Road Amrica (6 hrs)
3. Laguna Seca (26 hrs)

Thanks for the post Golden Tom.

Well, as noted far back, I don't quite understand the facination with
Laguna Seca so the best I can hope for is that whenever there is an
all Corvette event there it just happens to match up with a Sears Point
/ Infineon date so some of the crowd can get a double dose. About the
only groups that now run Sears Point are NASA and TrackMasters.

Hey G.J. Good to see you checking in...hope you are enjoying that new ride! You may want to add Eagles Canyon and MSR-Cresson to your list...Both in Texas within 60 miles of DFW Metroplex.
