Default Rd Atlanta-NASA- some familiar faces

don't think we had any Vettes crash all weekend! That's more than I can say for the Mustang and Porsche crowd.

It was GREAT to meet you at RoadAtlanta this weekend Dave.

David gave me the info & contact for buying scrubbed Hoosiers back in 2001 and we've chatted via e-mail over the years. He's been a great source for info on the forum. I finally got to met him and took a "peek" at his new ride.

Dave's still setting his new WCC C-6 Z06 up and "Tweaking" the suspension. He turned Fastest time of the day, 7:31xx and ran away with the race.

As I recall, David did a 1:27xx in his old car... soooo there's still more available.

Thanks for riding with me.

"YOU BETCHA"... I'm gonna remember those "pointers" you so kindly provided.

Cya @ the track,

Trumper

Man, I really wanted to go up there to watch this weekend but didn’t get a chance. Nice pics.

David,

You are missing one driver in a yellow '04 Corvette in the instructor goup. You know I passed that Mustang that qualified next to you, he was running in the instructor group .

BTW, if I decide not to do WC next year, I will give you a major sponsor info.

I remember passing that Mustang also in the instructor group. Can't believe he was fast enough to qualify up by David. Didn't matter, David you blew everybody away. Best of luck if you go to Mosport.

All I can say is that is was pleasure watching David Farmer out on the track! I think he lapped everyone. Sorry that I didn't get a chance to meet you. The car looks and sounds great and obviously handles great. It was really hot-the thermometer in our trailer read 115* on Sat and 108* on Sun. It was my first NASA event, and everybody including the weekend event was great--much more laid back than SCCA events that I've been to.

Dave,

Thanks for the pics! That is me in the 53x car (first pic). Sorry I did not actually get to meet you, came down a few times and never found you there. Did see your car, it looks great!

I was only able to take photos a couple of times, but I'll look for your car.

Dave, it was great seeing you do so well in a very handsome racecar. Watching you overpower the field was humbling for us DE drivers.

Keep up the good work.

btw, I have high-res shots of those photos (and more) if anybody wants them. Just send an email with the car color and number, and I'll send them over.

It was a great Vette weekend. David was the class of the field in the Thunder race and Vettes romped in the HPDE 4 group. And as David said, no Vette driver wadded up a car.

Markatl, sorry I missed your post. The fast Mustang was driven by the co-owner of the car in the Student group. That car makes 800 hp at the rear wheel, and the race driver was using every bit of it. I had to get about an 8-car-length lead before turn 7, or he would blow by me on the straight. At around 450 rwp, he had nearly double the power of my car.

i was watching the saturday thunder race from the T10a/b area and was wondering how that car was staying with you....

btw, your car sounded great and it was amazing watching you pass slower traffic coming out of 10b, it looked like your car was shot out of a cannon...

yes, the black car with the flames makes 800+ hp at the rear wheel. He leaves this huge trail of black smoke at full throttle. The other really fast car, the black firebird with the fabricated nose (looked sort of like a dirt track car) also made a lot of HP until he blew up on Sunday.

I really wanted to hang back and race with those guys, but they literally would get such a lead on the straight that It was really hard work ever getting close enough to pass in the curves.
