2002 C5 Z06, one owner, setup for autocross AS/SSR, street driven
Posting for my friend, Sam Makhlouf.who is not on the forums
2002 C5 Z06, Black on Black.
$24,000 OBO includes extra genuine GM wheels, Penske double adjustable shocks, Addcco bar, hidden hitch, as it sits.
Can negotiate a deal without the Penske shocks (would put stock shocks back on car)
Car located in Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.
Never been in collision.
Never been to a road track ever.
Setup for SCCA autocross SSR/AS
around 33.8K miles.
Body and interior are both 9.5/10
Transmission rebuilt in 2017 at 29K miles (have paperwork, replaced worn synchros, shift pads, etc.)
One owner car. Black is one cool color on this car.
Again Includes:
Penske Double adjustable shocks
Addco front bar
Hidden hitch
Extra set of Genuine GM wheels.
Otherwise completely bone stock.
This car has not been autocrossed since 2014 (owner buying a Tesla)
Car setup and installation done by Alex Tziortzis
Car had won SCCA national Tour events, #1 pax at local events in super stock. Has been street driven since 2014, garaged always, driven in summers only..
Never driven in winters, always garaged. Rare ONE OWNER CAR (Sam is the original owner with original free and clear title. Never in any accident, car is super clean. It is extremely difficult to find a one owner car).
on the open market, OEM GM wheels can cost $800, Penskes easily $2K, bar $225, Hitch $500 plus installation. Get a harbor freight triailer and you don't need a hauling rig to run is SSR. So this is a great deal with everything included, but can work out a deal without extras (hitch is installed and can be seen in pics.). OBO, no lo-ballers please.
Ready to be competitive in AS or SSR. I can vouch for the car since I have known it since it was new and I did all the work on it myself including installs, alignment, corner weighting.
Would make an awesome street car.

The control arms were replaced under warranty around 2005 or 2006 with the revised design (GM came out with a revised design in the lower control arms for the C5 Z06, which includes more metal in the center of the bushings.)
Here are pictures taken yesterday, 11/26/2019. All look pretty good to me.

Alex, at that price with what it has, it makes the rest of the C5Z SSR cars left seem like pieces of crap and worthless.
I'll keep an ear out.

Why transmission needed to be rebuild ?

1st/2nd gear synchro has a snap ring that failed causing grinding into 1st gear. This is a typical failure on the transmission. In any case, transmisison was rebuilt with new synchros/rings/pads.
