SCCA T-1/NASA ST-2/TransAm TA3 Tway Motorsports C5 Corvette
We are putting up for sale our championship winning Tway Motorsports #03 T-1/ST-2/TA3 Corvette.
This 2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was originally built by the SCCA championship powerhouse Phoenix Performance. It took 3rd in the 2007 SCCA Runoffs piloted by Mike McGinley. It made its way to California in 2008 and was campaigned in regional races for a couple years until we purchased it in 2010 and ran it for a couple years as is. In 2012, we transformed it into a dual purpose NASA ST-2 and SCCA T-1 race car. Over that time, the car has set and still holds multiple T-1, ST-2 and TT-2 track records up and down the west coast. It last ran in May, and has since had a new forged LS6 engine installed and is ready to go as turnkey race car.
Price: $37,500

Cool car, I had a blast with it when I owned it! It looks a lot different now than when I raced it.(sounds awesome too) When I sold it it was the fastest C5 at the SCCA Runoffs in 2007. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks Mike. The car has a great history. I would have loved to keep it.

No dry sump? Not worried about oiling problems? I'm looking to upgrade my 02 C5Z here and want to lay down some good times at Autoclub. I always worry about the big oval turn at high speed killing my stock LS6. Your setup looks to be what I want to target.
Did you have a shop fab your upward radiator support? Which shop? What about oil cooler positioning?

This #03 does not have a dry sump. And it cannot run at Auto Club Speedway anymore. With the aero development on the car, and the better Hoosier A7 tires, we are pulling two many g's around the oval and starving the pump of oil.
The #57 car we run has a full blown 3-stage scavenge dry sump setup with a external pressure pump. It can run at Auto Club Speedway all day long with no issue.
We did all the fabrication for the radiator and drysump in shop at Tway Motorsports. The oil cooler is just in front of the radiator.
