My 1/18 Diecast Room
I finally decided to convert an unused bedroom into a place where I could put my entire collection.
I collect a bit of everything, muscle cars, exotics, motorcycles and, yes Corvettes. I mainly collect 1/18 scale. I like the detail in the larger models.
I don't collect as an investment, just for fun. Most of mine are common cars bought because they appeal to me.
Anyway, here are some pics of my room in progress.

Very  I am starting to turn an extra bedroom into my "Toy" room also. Have 1/18 Vettes and Harleys. Pick up the ones that I like mostly on Ebay. :seeya

It really just takes some imagination and time.
The white clad 4' shelves (3 to a row and 10" wide) and brackets came from Home Depot for less than $200. Each 12' row will hold 25 1/18 scale cars and I have room on the wall brackets to add 2 more rows when needed.
The tin Corvette signs came from Target @ $9.99 each and the posters can be gotten from most vendors. I already had the oak display cabinet. Getting it upstairs was fun!
This is a room I have always wanted to do and it has been fun putting it together. This weekend I pretty much finished it for the time being. I'll add a few updated photo's soon.
My latest project is mounting a 4' x 10' dealer poster/wall mural in a room downstairs. :)

Hi 2k2C5 -
I like the use of the track shelving - I will keep that in mind for the new garage -that would be the perfect wat to display my 1:18's in the garage...
Great lookging room!
best regards -

very very nice. I have done the same thing to a spare bedroom except I call it my game room. I have my Grand Sport models/car trophies/dart board/computer/and my beer can collection that rings the walls all the way around the room 8" from the ceiling. Throw in some corvette signs and beer signs and the room is my favorite place. (had to do something with those beer cans, my son and I collected them in the eighties. around 300 I think)
