Gomotorbids.com something funny
Last 10 C5R 1/12 scale cars all went to one person. His bids never show up during the bidding but he always wins even when I bid in the last minute he is always high bidder something strange or corrupt?

I always bid with a minute to go, never before, and put in an amount that I will spend, not just a couple dollars higher than the last bid, I win 90% of the time. If I lose, it's usually because the other person spent more than I was willing to pay.

Drifting
I figure out in advance how much I'm willing to pay and I let ebay do it's thing. If I lose out,hey there's another one out there somewhere. That way I don't get cought up in a bidding frienzy and pay more than I want.Sometimes I'll start out with my top bid and let the acution run it's course, then if I feel like upping it a couple more $$ I will.

He is probably using Snipe program which will automatically bid to his highest amount in the last second of the bid he just won another one today. He has captured the last ten C5R 1/12 cars

I was going to bid on a 03 1:12 c5r there, but never got around to registering. the prices are pretty low there. hes probably buying them there and selling on ebay for 50-75 dollars more.

I may drive his price up to see his limit and cost him more money.

I've heard a different theory on another site. Someone suggested that there are a few IDs that do this kind of thing all the time on that site. I don't bid on that site, so it's not my theory, but several people think that these IDs belong to people that work for that site to try to get prices up to attract more sellers as well as to raise the selling fee.
Personally, I don't believe that because why would the site want to buy up the last 10 1/12 scale Corvettes? I don't think workers would want to buy these cars and then sell them on a competitors website. That just doesn't make sense.
I also think it's just someone sniping in the final minutes doing the same thing as others here do. At the last second, he throws in a bid that is lower than the cars sell for on eBay, but high enough to outbid the last bidder or any other last second bidders. He's just buying low and selling high. There's nothing unusual about it accept that it costs a lot of money to play this game for these particular items. Maybe he owns a store or something and is using store funds to do it. I'm sure that he's getting them below his cost from the manufacturer.

first number is winning bid 2nd was my bid. I guess they go for 220-275 for 1/12 which is better than 599 that diecast sellers charge. I got a 1/18 C5R #3 Earnhart raced / dirt version for 39 buck! I got a bunch of nice cars like some Daytona Prototypes for less than half 36-39.

What is Popcorn Bidding and how does it work?
Popcorn bidding is a feature that was implemented at the request of GoMotorBids Members. It is a feature that automatically extends the closing time of an item listing if a bid is placed within the last two minutes of the auction. If yet another bid is placed, the time will be extended again. Bids may be placed until all bidding activity ceases. This enhancement makes the listing more like a traditional "live" auction in that as long as there is interest and activity on an item, bidding will continue. It also prevents a practice known as "sniping", where bidders place a bid to take an item away from another bidder in the last seconds before the listing closes.
Popcorn bidding is only in effect for the 24 hour auction and auctions for charitiable foundations. You will see a special icon in the item listing for popcorn bidding.
