Franklin Mint 1/18th scale
Got an e-mail from Mint models I think. They are selling 1/18th FM 1970 Z/28.Hugger orange a blue one and I think a Datona yellow.Won't ship until fall.Anybody else here of this and do they plan on doing any Corvettes in the scale?Sounds interesting.

Will these have the RS "split bumper" option?

I got the same e-mail and I was surprised that FM was jumping into the 1:18 area. Perhaps Danbury Mint is hurting them too much in the 1:24 scale sales. As far as them doing any Corvettes...I haven't heard that they are.

This has been a big subject on other sites. Here's a couple of pictures I've found. The diecast doesn't look very good. It seems to be bent upwards in the middle and the front looks more like a Vega. I'm guessing there will be plenty of these available because everyone who has seen the pictures have stated that they much prefer the Ertl version... me included. Haven't heard anything about Vettes, but if this diecast is any indication of future efforts, I'll pass.
