multi battery system?

Anybody ever run a system with 2 batteries. My DD is a 1997 Yukon that has a space for a second battery in the engine conpartment.Any benefits to this ....

Scudd....do you plan on playing the stereo for long periods of time while the truck is not running? Do you have an obnoxious amount of amplifiers in the truck? If no then you have no need for a second battery.

If you do decide to use two batteries...I STRONGLY advise that the batteries be the same make, amperage, and made roughly at the same time. In other words, you will need to buy TWO batteries and use the OEM battery elsewhere.
