Default CD Error in my 93 Delco/Bose unit-need Help

I have a 93 Vette with a Delco/Bose radio with a CD player. I purchase this car in August and I went to use the CD player for the first time today. When I placed the CD into the player after 1 min. the radio display shows ERR and rejects the CD. I tried about 5 different CD’s with the same results. I even sprayed some air into the CD player but I get the same results. Doses anyone has any other fix I can try to get the CD player to work?

This is common for 93's. You can either replace the head unit, via dr. dons for $585 or some other corvette repair center for about the same price. You can also replace the whole system with an aftermarket head unit & speakers for just about the same price. I suggest replacing the whole system with aftermarket for up to date technology and better sound. Remember if you replace your head unit with another bose, you might find a speaker amp or 2 go bad shortly after. I did. I don't know why but I would avoid trying to fix the bose system & replace with new. Just my opinion. Good Luck.

If you want to keep your stock radio, you can send it in for repair for something like $150. They'll fix your CD, and replace other almost worn out parts with new stuff. No need to buy a whole new unit, that's really expensive $$$.

I was thinking that I may just buy a CD changer and install that and that could fix my problem. This may be a cheaper fix and I can play more than one CD.

that will work. However, the changer will have to be attached to the head via the receiver... they work through the low FM stations, like 87.7 or so.
