Default sound deadening VS fiberglass body

Shortly I will be replacing the carpet in my 1987 coupe and I wanted to use some left-over Fat Mat (same stuff as dynamat, etc.) on the floor, and other interior panels to provide some sound deadening. I am wondering if these type of products (including the spray on rubberized soundproofing/undercoating) was compatable with our fiberglass bodies? Anyone ever hear of any chemical interaction or other problems with sound deadening products and fiberglass? I don't want to use anything that will attack or weaken the body.
Many thanks for any insights!

Brad...I have used sound deadner in many vettes. 105 sq ft of it in my C5...works very well. I have seen no hazards to fiberglass or heard of any hazards. I would not use any undercoating inside your car. More of a mess than it is worth.

Thanks EatRice for the insights. I just wanted to check before applying this stuff as I have used it on metal bodied cars, but the Vette and it's fiberglass body are new to me. I appreciate your words of wisdom. Now to drag out the Fat Mat and start cutting!
