Default Custom Sub Box

Hello I'm just trying to see if anyone out there has built a custom sub box for 2 12's in a C4. The thing I'm trying to figure out is there a way to make it fit and still be able to put my top in the back during long trips. Anything would help, pics or dimensions.

Thanks
Bill

why would u ever need 2 12" subwoofers in a corvette??? i have one 12" rockford fosgate P2 in my C3 and it is enough to make ur ears bleed the base is so loud, i think it wwould just be a waste to put 2 12's in a vette since the cabs are so small, now if u had a bigger car live and expedition or an escalade maybe u would have the need for more thane 1 but that is because u have more cab area, u just dont need it inside of a little corvette

Don't know about 12s, but I have two 10s and my top still fits. Pic on website.

I fit 2 Kicker SoloBaric 12's in the back of my 1987 Vette using a regular box from a stereo shop. It takes up the whole storage area but it is worth it. Pushing 1600 watts just in the sub area.

I'm not sure about the sizes (10" or 12") but, I've seen custom enclosures that replace the compartment lids that are right behind the seats, I've also seen them placed vertically in a "fake" facade or wall against the back, below the rear hatch. I simply have two 10's in a big obnoxious box in the back behind my N2O bottle and roll bar, I simply unplug it and remove it for that trip to the track. The best I've seen was in a '94 - the guy made a custom box just tall enough for the 12's, the box was then ENTIRE size of the back compartment and it was carpeted to match the interior. Besides the Speakers he was able to hide his amps, crossovers and some other electronics. He also built in trap doors for easy access - yet were invisible. This guy made it himself! It was "perfect" - I didn't even realize he had "raised" the entire back compartment. Hope this helped a little...

My plan was to go with two 8's in the rear 6x9 compartments to maintain more or less all of the factory storage space. Originally, I was going to do one 10" in the passenger's side compartment, but I decided against that. Provided a quality install, it should be plenty, but I am not competing or anything so YMMV. Good luck whatever you decide.
