Default Need experience - swapping speakers but keeping stock Bose

Can't redo the whole system. Is it worth upgrading speakers while keeping stock head unit on a 2001 C5 Vert? I get conflicting advice from car stereo shops. Please reply with brand and model numbers whereby sound improved.

I wouldn't...

I guess the question that begs to be asked... why can't you redo the entire system?

If it's money - wait until you can afford to do it right.

If it's a lease car - don't do it at all.

If your worried the warrantee will be voided, don't. SEMA has fought in court to protect an owners right to install aftermarket components.

So which is it?

Its the money especially since C5's are depreciating like crazy with the new C6's arriving soon. The $4,000 to 5,000 +/- can be better spent in a new home stereo, flat screen set-up.

I agree with Bogus. Save your money, the stereo is as only good as the weakest link. In your case that would be Bose HU and the interface wiring harness.
