Hi! I'm thinking about swapping out my Alpine 7830 for a 7998. I'm upgrading my system and adding a sub so I'd like something with more tuning capabilities and crossovers (versus adding separate eq/crossover). Also want to be able to play MP3's.
Anyway, I was looking at the 7998 and noticed that the face sits higher than the top of the unit when it's out. The DIN mount I have in my '96 puts the unit all the way to the top of the factory radio opening. Late C4's like mine have a bezel just above the radio that sticks out about 1/2" or so. I'm worried that the face of the 7998 might hit the bezel when it comes out.
I have a 7998 in my tacoma which has a similar configuration and i havent had a problem. The 7998 wil lcome out flat, tilt up, then slide back until it encounters something - and stops.
