I want dual 10" subs. Anyone know how much or where to get?

Thinking about getting dual 10inchers. Went to best buy to check it out, it'll cost about $500 installed. Does this sound right?

Ok, great! Lets assume we have a $500 budget then. Is that $500 for sub, box, and amp?

If so, sticking with the dual 10 idea,

Two of these: ID10


Amp:

US Acoustics Amp


The tricky part is wiring the subs.

Each sub should be wired in PARALLEL. That makes each sub 2 ohm.

Run one sub to one channel, the other sub to the other channel.

Dont bother bridging the amp.


you cna do all this for under $500

get your wiring kit at Walmart (4 gauge I suggest.)

I'm also going with US Acousics and Image Dynamics (IDQ and USX monoamp though). From what I've heard around here and seen for pricing/specs (IDQ subs require very small enclosures) the recommendation above whould be a good recomendation for your budget.

I don't know much about these subs, but I have been very happy with my Kappa Perfect 12" They sell new on eBay for almost the same price.

In any case you I think I have seen others mount two tens in a custom box in the rear well...

I have seen someone on the forum who makes them for sale. You should also be able to find the plans for how to make it yourself.

How do MTX amps compare in price and performance to the US Acoustics?
