Default Opinions on Mobile Authority Audio

I have two 10" JL audio W6 subs and i am going to be getting either an Alpine 9827 or Pioneer 8500 deck in the next week. I am on a budget because i am saving up for university for next the 7 years. My friend at school has 2 12" 2000w Pile competition subs with a Mobile Authority 1000w compitition amp(1280i). I know that those above ratings are B.S. but hes them in his 91 crx and that car pounds like a mofo. i was in his car with the volume cranked up to 1/4 of max and even though i was only in his car for like 20 seconds, my body was still shaking for like 20-30 minutes. My question is, are Mobile Authority amps any good? the amp is only gonna cost me $200 CDN. If not what other amp would you recommend that is under $200 US

2000 watts :lolg: :lolg: :lolg: :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:

I also had 2 Pyle 12" subs. I had them in a horn loaded enclosure with a 150 watts going to each and they too rocked big time (til one blew).

What your friend has is a CRX and that car has an extremely high "cabin gain" when it comes to bass notes.

You have two quality subs and if you want their "full" potential you will need to spend a tad more. I recommend a JBL 600.1 which will run both subs at a 1.5 ohm load which is just fine with that amp (I run two 18W6's off a JBL amp). I bet you can find one for $225 or less, try http://www.ikesound, I've had good luck with them.

PS, if you build a good enclosure for the subs, your system will kick your friend' butt in SPL and espically sound quality. :smash:

do you mean the 600.1 or the 600.2. Because the 600.1 only seems to have outputs for one speaker, o and thanks for the insight, i would never have thought to look at JBL

The 600.1 is a mono sub amp...both subs are hooked up to the same terminal.
