Default Need help with radar detector hardwire.....

I have had my radar detector hardwired for over a year and its worked fine but recently it has been blowing the fuse or not coming on. I found a short in the hardwire and cut out that section of the wire, replaced the fuse and then checked that the wire was gettting twelve volts when the key was on and it still is. However when the key is turned off i notice that there is still about 35 or so millavolts of power going through that wire. I didn't check to see if this was there before i first installed the radar over a year ago. Is this voltage no big deal or is it a hint on how to solve my problem?? If so what does it represent?? Thanks in advance....

What do you have it wired to?
You can disconnect the Radar detector and check the other connections to verify they need 35mv.
If so you might want to try another power source. This will drain your battery in time. When the car is off the Radar detector should be off.
Best of luck to ya,
Tim

Without more details it's hard to say. Maybe it draws a little to keep the operators settings as you set them so you don't have to do them every time you start the car  Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. 35 milli volts is not going to blow a fuse but the short definetely will.
