Default Want to remove all or part of factory radio -- '03 Vette

A few questions. I am going to replace all or part of the factory radio system in the Vette, but have a few questions.
First, if you replace the head unit, is there a way to wire it to allow the Window Valet to continue to turn on/off the radio with the remote? It appears, the radio is actually controlled by the BCM, and replacement with a non-factory head will remove this control. Is there a way to power up the new head unit via a relay that is controlled by the BCM?

Second, anyone ever replace all the speakers and install a 4-channel amp and keep the factory installed head unit? If so, was there an improvement in the sound? (I know the wattage is increased.)

Window Valet does not work with aftermarket HUs...yet! I sent them an email and they said they were working on a new one that would support it.
As for your second question, you could retain the stick HU and install new speakers and amp and I'm sure it would improve the sound quality but you're still better off replacing the whole thing as the factory HU doesn't have many options in adjusting sound quality.

Thanks. I am in contact at this time with a Delco Engineer who handles the Vette Bose system and radio. I'm trying to find out if I can regain some control of an aftermarket radio via a relay, at least for turn on/off feature, but not for vehicle speed adjustment.
