I would like to install a Nakamichi CD 400 as a rplacement for my stock Bose unit in my 96 LT4. I have never done a Corvette radio replacement, but I have taken the Bose out and put it back in after some servicing, etc.
My wish is to do the least disruptive install. I am willing to continue to use the Bose speakers. I know, generally, I will need to have a mounting system of some kind to physically attach the Nakamichi, and a trim plate which adapts the space to the correct DIN size. I also will obviously need a wire harness to bridge the Nakamichi/Bose connection.
I've done some web searching, but I find the info I am able to glean rather confusing. Can anybody help me out with some straight talk on what I need to purchase in order to get this done? Also, anybody want to recommend a particular source for the materials I'll need.
I'm generally a pretty hand and adept guy with my car's mechanics, so I'm not naive or intimidated by this project being some work. what I don't have is much experience with electronics, and good use some good guidance.
