What is a Stealthbox?

Specifically what is a JBA Stealthbox? or a JLAudio Stealthbox?

Where do they go, what do they do and how much should a used one in good shape cost for the back of a 1999 coupe?

JL Audio makes the "real" stealth box. They retail new for 599.00 and it is hard to get a dealer to discount these. I purchased a barely used one from a forum member. They sound GREAT!!! There is a few members making them with great reviews!

Does anyone have the dimension of the boxes for C5's? Maybe I could use their dimensions and build a box myself and save me hundreds. $600 sounds just alittle too high for me...

Mine is only 120$ and it is better than JL box since it can hold a 12" sub.
Check my site and you won't go wrong with it.
Specially, my new S-2 box just released last month. It looks identical to JL box and you won't have to remove any carpet.

Mike...Wow!! didn't know you came out with a second generation. Question...would a JL 12" W3 fit okay in this box? What has your experience been with the sound with the factory cover over the sub?

I'm gonna have to think hard about this one, can't beat $120!!!! :cheers:

NoleC5, the JL 12W3 won't fit in my box since it is too deep (6.5" mounting depth) but the 12W6 original one will fit. If you already got the sub then use it, otherwise, I would buy Diamond Audio 12" M3 just 110$ shipped and it will be better than JL.

For the amp, I would get JBL 600.1 class D mono amp and it will pull this baby well. The amp is just less than 200$ on Ebay. Looking for a seller with more than 500 feedbacks and buy a brand new one.
