NEW CONVERTIBLE--SUB WOOFER???
I had the silver coupe pictured down below and built a beautiful custom box for a 12" L7 solobaric with a 1000BD Rockford Fosgate amp pushing it. My question is can I put that back into the convertible? Has anyone ever had a subwoofer in a convertible? Is it worth it? Will I be able to hear it?
I mean, its a huge speaker, and space isn't really such an issue, but if its worthless, no need to have the weight/space in it.
Justin

Check my sig. I think it is a huge improvement over stock. I still get some kick with the top down. Get hooked up with Tuan's 1000/1 12w7 deal and blow the trunk off :)

Dont have a vert but theres no reason why that thing wont hit. Might provide a little less low end with out the roll off of the coupe hatch but I think you will be surprised with that set up. That baby will still be kick'in the seats :yesnod:

I have a 12" JL in the trunk, it rocks. Sounds better with the top down.

Re: NEW CONVERTIBLE--SUB WOOFER??? (MEATHOUSE)
I was wondering if anyone had managed to get a pair of subs firing towards the driver and passenger in the sort of dead area behind the seats, but forward enough that the top can go down easily in the vert. I have checked the space many times and 2 subs there will bust your head if you can get them mounted. I do think there is enough space, anyone creative enough to find a way to pull it off before me?
I am trying to sort out a way to do it efficiently and so that it looks killer in the car, as well as being unobtrusive to the top when it is up or down.

I was thinking it could be built in front and under the convertible top perhaps having the speakers at a 45 degree angle. Just a thought.
Nice install, what kind of sub is that? :lurk:

Actually I have found that my laptop case (full size targus at about 8 inches thick) fits easily as I put the top down right on top of it often with no adverse effects on my laptop or my car top. So between the actual clear space in the front and the 8 inches under the conv. top, I still think there is some space, someone has to have done this?

I've got (2) 10's in my trunk. I pulled into the parking lot the other day with the top down and my 18 year old daughter, who was standing about 30 feet away next to our go-kart track turned and gave ME  a thumbs up.
It's definitely worth it.
I was looking all over for a better place than the large trunk area but getting the proper size box is an issue.

would love to see some pics of your install? My fiancee and I are moving to seattle this summer too, can't wait to get out west, she is taking a job at Washington Univ. as for me, well I am hoping to find something decent.
