Question about DVD/CD/MP3 Video HU?

Howdy Folks - I'd like to do a nice AV type HU in my Z (NCM pickup in 5 days!!) - but here's my question - what components would I need to satisfy the following needs: It needs to play: CD/CD-R, MP3, DVD Obviously is needs a display But here's my caveat - I've seen a lot of systems that require the motorized display to be out/up to access the CD player controls - and I would like the screen to only be used for DVD (video) playback. I also like the idea of the hidden motorized displays too (especially when black, I think it makes it less of a target). So I was thinking something like this: 1/2 DIN CD/MP3/DVD player with self contained controls for audio playback 1/2 DIN motorized display that accepts the video input from the other component So the display wouldn't really need any playback capabilities. I guess the other option, is if there are any of the motorized screen CD/DVD players that have "external" controls for audio playback that don't *have* to use the display (?) I'm not much of an expert on this stuff, just know how I would like it to work. Thanks in advance for any input/comments/etc!

I believe the new Clarion unit is like what you describe. Personaly I am going with the Alpine IVA-D900. There is no manual out yet for it so I am unsure if it has that feature.

I agree...I am also pretty sure the Clarion has the features you describe.

Oh, and nice choice Brian...I am going to order the IVA-D900 this weekend :)

I have a question for you though...do you already have a headunit or not? If not, what parts will you need? I heard of an adaptor that is about 70 dollars that utilizes your stock bose system but allows you to override the factory amps (or something along those lines). Any help would be appreciated.
