Re: Smokin' deal on dampening sheets.. move over dynamat. (Nevermind)
Looks like yet another product to outdo Dynamat in the pricing arena, but how will it perform (i.e. ease of application, will it stay once it's applied and actual resonance/frequency dampening/deflecting). I am interested in reading your experience with it once you get it installed Kale....err...I mean...Ohh Nevermind. :D

Ive heard from a couple people that the v.1 isnt as sticky as it should be.. I'm sure you can use contact cement to secure it in.
The web site says you can use 3M spray adhesive. I have used that stuff on other projects and it is really sticky!
I use the 3M spray adhesive #90 to carpet enclosures with and it does stick well but I would hate to have to buy a dozen cans of it to stick the dampening material to the car. :(

But I just looked at the specs dynamat extreme is 1.14 mm thick as compared to edesign which is 60 mm thick. If the dampening factor on the dynamat is better then it would be a lot less space consuming and lighter.

Great find
I just got a 70 sq. ft. roll of Brown Bread on e-bay for $149 shipped
Ditto
I have used many different types and brands of sound dampening material. From Dynamat to Raammat to Brown Bread and Cascade VBlock, I've even used plain 'ole roofing mastic...PEW! So far the best bang for the buck comes from B-Quiet Brown Bread. Raammat is a close second.
I've never used this edesign stuff so I'm interested in hearing Kales' review of it.

If it ever gets here
My doors dont rattle, and are sealed well from the factory. We'll see if it makes a difference... :D
I cant actually mount the speaker to the deadening material, because the cone would hit the factory speakergrill.... but I'll put it everywhere else on the door.
at the moment my mounting looks ilke this:
DOOR > Foam weatherstrip around perimiter of strangely-shaped factory speaker pod (open backed, not an enclosure)... oval opening that juts out about 1.75" from face of plastic speaker pod > bead of really good clear silicone around the rim of the plastic speaker mount allowed to almost form a skin > .5" MDF with a bevel cut into it so the speaker sits nearly flush with the mdf > foam weatherstrip tape again > Speaker > black silicone adhesive sealent around outside rim of speaker.

I've been using Ice Dam from home depot for years. It is nearly identical to Dynomat. 100ft. for $49.95. It sticks great, has no smell after a few hours and is just the right weight.

Is it a vinyl or an asphalt product?
Asphalt based. My biggest concern was to see if it had any smell to it. I know of more than a few stereo shops in the area using it. I placed a 1 foot piece in my car for a day or two in the sun- after an hour or two there was no telling whatsoever. It looks and feels exaclty like Dyno. I'm not sure on the thickness, but for that price - double it. It sticks great too.
