Default Trying To Learn A Little

Okay. I have the usual OEM Bose system with 12-disc CD changer in my 2001 vert. It looks exactly like the Bose system that was in my 1997 Z-71 pickup. I'm not complaining though.

I've been looking into perhaps getting a better system but am trying to find out who makes the best quality and reliable units from all of you who have actually had to operate the equipment.

From what I have read up on, it appears either Alpine or Clarioin for the CD/DVD/MP3 head unit and CD changer; JL Audio for the stealthbox and dual 8" subwoofers; and just about any of a 1/2 dozen or so manufacturers for the door and rear area speakers and amps. I would rather complete my homework than rely solely on the store rep for what to purchase hence, my post here on the forum.

I plan to remove the rear area and passenger area carpet and install some 3/8" Dynomat sound insulation for road noise control (I run Firehawks and they are a lot quieter than the Good Years) and music retention.

Since I listen to a lot of classical, Bocelli, Brightman, Moody Blues, Enya and so forth genre music, (occaisionally the Who, REM - now I've dated myself!) I want top quality at a volume I can hear going down the freeway at 120mph with the top down and wind blowing thru my thinning hair. Suggestions anyone?

Thanks for your time.

SAVE THE WAVE :seeya
