Default Is this a good deal? (Custom fiberglass enclosure, 10" sub, install, etc)

I spoke with a stereo shop today and here is what I want to do to my C5. The left rear compartment is going to have a fiberglass 10" sub enclosure attached to the stock Bose head unit. Here is what the stereo shop quoted me:

$75 - Audiobahn AW100Q 10" sub
$425-$500 - Custom fiberglass enclosure, wiring kit, amp mounting, and labor for wiring.

I've got the amp and crossover already so that's not factored into the price. Is this expensive for custom work or is it about right? I'm going to shop around more, but I'm really going into this blindly right now. Help!!

Tell them your not giving a dime dime over $450 for the whole enchilada, then make sure they've installed in a C5 before. Of course thats my opinion.

:( Its a bit high $$ to me... considering the "Custom fiberglass enclosure" is going to be done in such a small space (it wont take much to do). The price quoted sounds about right if the enclosure was to be in a larger compartment with more curves and space such as the center rear well of the C5.

My $0.02 :)

my install shop is 375 a day flat rate. Find out how much time they have factored.

Same here, but start at 400 bucks.

No, not a good deal :nonod:

You only need this box. http://www.jlaudio.com/stealthbox/c5.html

Buy an amp. Have the installer run the wires for you for 2-3 hours at most.

Good luck

IMO, the JL boxes are a waste of good storage space. I'm not a big fan of them at all... that's why I'm looking into a fiberglass enclosure instead.
