Default GPS and radios?

I just returned back from Holland, Europe and I drove a new Mercedes that had a JVC radio with GPS with spoken directions (highway and/or street addresses) incorporated into the radio. (The radio/CD sound lowered automatically when driving instructions were given) It also showed various types of little direction maps on the screen for types of exits. Since I am a pilot and use the GPS in all my flying, I thought it was great in driving around on highway and byways and major cities such as Amsterdam. Check this out: http://www.jvc-europe.com/carnav/jvc...Dutch/top.html
Are any of such GPS units available around here?

Default Re: GPS and radios? (Ghostrider)

Yes the clarion autopc with the gp8 antenna.......or autopc 2 also called the joyride. Autopc can be had for 500 ish off eBay or joyride off ebay or new for 1400 ish. Be careful, the other thing is that you'll have to purchase the Odyssey 2000 mapping software and the Navtech map data CD to make it work. I have the regular autopc in my vette and my 1999 camaro Z28. I like the units. Do some research and see what you think. It is very costly but worth the expensive if your really into technology like myself........ :D
