Default C6 Chimes

Anyone know if the chimes in a C6 stay if the Nav/Audio head unit is replaced with an aftermarket unit?
Car is 2006 3LT Coupe.

If you are replacing the factory head unit you can retain the door/warning chimes by using the correct wiring harness/interface for your car. I used the Pac Audio RP5-GM11 and it has it's own chime module to retain factory chimes.

Yes, that's what I have, but I read the instructions that some vehicles don't need it fitted. I was just fishing to see if anyone had done this and confirmed that the PAC chime was needed or not.

Yep, it's needed if you want to keep the chimes.
