Thinking about installing my amp and sub myself...??
I just bought a custom box with a 12 inch JL audio sub in it. I'm not exactly sure what amp to buy yet but I was thinking a Rockford Fosgate. I have zero experience with hooking up audio equipment. Do you think there is anyway I could hook this all up myself without screwing it all up?? Any tips? Advice on a amp? Or how much do you think a nice car audio shop would want to hook it up??

I would recommend a RF for a power house amp. Not the cleanest amp in the world but they work great in sub applications. I have not tied an amp/sub into the factory stereo but there is a plethora of info on this site. Just search for posts made by 99HT and you will find everything that you will need to do the install. After getting the info you can determine if it within your comfort level to try to do the install yourself. I myself would go for it. I love doing things for myself if for nothing else besides the sense of accomplishment. :yesnod: Good luck.

Thanks man  but I chickened out and went ahead and set up an appointment to have it professional installed tommarrow :D Just didn't feel comfortable with doing the car audio stuff myself with no experience, I would much rather install my own heads :D at least I know how that stuff works.
