Default New System for Tacoma, you like? (Budget System Inside)

ETC: Q-Logic Kick Panels $150
SPEAKERS: CDT CL-51 5.25" speakers $259
AMP: US Acoustics USX 2100 $140

I am undecided on head unit. Which alpine has the orange illumination?

As far as subs go - i'm not sure where to go with that. I dont want to take up all the rear room. The Stealthbox is cool, but i dont htink i can lean the seats back with it in there.

Total cost will be less than $1000

It is a standard cab right? I don't think you will be able to lean the seats back with anything you put in there. Unless you put a single sub on the passenger side and make your co-pilot suffer.

What about a ported set of 8's or a sealed 10 behind a cover to look like one of the jump seats?

I want to still b able to use hte jump seats.

How about this

Sub:

Focal 5wS Mini Sub (I know its not much spl but it will help, yes?)
This would be mounted in the center console under the arm rest.
The arm rest leans up, and there is a storage bin underneath.
I could fiberglass an enclosure out of it, and mount the 5WS there.

Can we see a pic of the interior to get a better idea of what we have to work with? I'm not familiar with the Tacoma.

W:eek:W. That interior is quite a challenge for a stealth install. I may have to think about this one for a while. A question about your idea using the Focals in the center storage bin.....where are you going to allow the sound to come out at? I guess I'm just not seeing the whole picture yet.

Not sure how much air space the Focals need but you could glass in the map pockets in the doors. I think I am starting to really reach here.

Illusion Audio (cough, cough) used to make in inverted magnet sub. It worked very nicely in my old '97 blazer, crossed over at 100hz down in addition to the three way componet set really had a good front image presense, of course it didn't ring the ears like the 4 - 12's in the back!

How about removing the center console stuff, building a custom box with a downward firing 10" or a pair of 8"s and mounting the center console armrest on top. We did this on a caravan and it turned out great. Its hard to tell if you could from the pics and I've never been in one. Also, are the doors a possibility for subs?
