Most GM changers will work in the C5, but you will may have to splice into the stereo harness to connect it up. The changer must be able to talk over the GM E&C data buss. Unless you get the proper cables and connectors for a C5, it's cut and splice time.

I have a used a Rockford Fosgate that was meant for older GM vehicles, with a C5 Bose HU. Works fine.
