Has anybody that's installed a system with the Alpine 7998 head unit gone to the Alpine website & burned a disc with new greeting messages & parameters?

Re: Alpine 7998 (barkingowl)
I have yet to burn a disk but will in the future. I have a problem with my unit that it will not automatically close when the key is switched off. I see there is a tech tip to wire in a relay and a cap to fix this problem. Any one else with this head unit have this problem in a C-5?
Thanks

I had the 7969 with that type of option....check your manual for settings. I had to set mine in order for it to work.
Hope this helps! [/QUOTE]
Naw its a know bug and there is a work around which includes installing a relay and a small cap. I saw the tech article on Alpines web site. Thanks for the thought though I wish it was as easy as pushing a few buttons.

I have the CDA-7998 and have also gone to the Ipersonalize section of the Alpine website and configured all of my measurements in and then downloaded to disc. It worked like a charm. Once I had it completed I did a bit of tweeking for my ears and it is good to go.

I thought it was just me but now that others are mentioning it I now know that it wasn't imagining it. Mine doesn't close either when I turn off the key. I thought it was just me. I have to go and manually close it each time. Where is this tech tip for getting it to close?
Thanks,

I'm surprised that there seems to be such a problem with this HU. I haven't had any trouble with mine...yet. :nonod:
