Default Sub box question..........

Is there a formula, or some way to figure out the proper sub box volume (size), and how to size the sub. I'm very new to this audio stuff, but am pretty good with wood, so I thought that I'd give box building a try. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Nothing special, just standard Volume equations. Length X Width X Heigth in inches. Take this value and divide by 1728, that will give you the cubic foot on the enclosure. By using interior measurement, ( or outside measurements minus the wall thinkness ) and also subtracting the subwoofer basket displacement, this will give you true interior volume.

The real trick is using the correct box size. The maker should tell you the specs of how much volume you need. You may want to put ribs inside to make it stonger so don't forget to subtract them from your volume. Use MDF and Liquid nails to make it.

Totally depends on recommended box volume. Most "C5" construction cases fall to fiberglass and either mdf or birch composition, as well as liquid nail sometimes.
