Opinion on Orion Cobalt CS 500.5?

I have found an Orion Cobalt CS 500.5 for $254. It puts out 50x4 + 100x1. I want an amp to run my whole system. Does anyone have any input? I have also found a set of MB Quart DSD216 components for $189. Feedback on these would also be appricated.

It's not new is it? Orion's cobalt line came around 1995. It was their moderate level line, decent equipment all the way through, but not anything close to the HCCA line. Sounds like a good deal is the amp in good shape?

Yes, it is brand new. I found it listed on several websites for about the same price, but when I called they were all out. I am not sure when it was actually made, but I found one place that still has one. I was told it is brand new in the box with the factory warranty. The orion website still has the cobalts listed. I think they have been discontinued so everyone was discounting them. Thanks for the input, I guess this means you would recommend the purchase?

Yeah, I'd recommend them for an intorductory line.

Orion just went through a restruture company-wise with there other sister name's under DEI I believe. Old Cobalt stuff was good entry though.
