Default XM antenna - anyone use this one?

I'm getting XM installed tomorrow & am trying to decide between the antenna that looks like a computer mouse and a through the glass mast antenna. Seems like people have had reasonably good luck with doing a stealth, inside the car installation of the mouse type antenna, but I'm wondering if anyone has used any of the through the glass antennas like:

This is the Terk SR-1X, but I think Sony and at least one other manufacturer make one as well.

Anyone have any feedback? Where did you mount it?

Thanks.

I have heard of people losing those glass mounted antenna on the highway. It uses double sided tape to keep it in place. Go stealth on the inside. No reception problems in my vette.

I brought one of those home and sat it on the rear window....my 15 year old son said "not only is it ugly, but if I saw it on another car in the parking lot, I would just have to grab it and see if it came off in my hand" He convinced me that it was not the way to go..

I ended up doing a stealth mounting of the other Terk antennae in the cargo compartment. I do have some "drop-outs" here and there and I am going to try some different mounting locations.

I had just responded to a different thread about this with a picture of my Terk SR-2 inside the rear fascia. However, I run the Terk SR-1X on my 99 GMC Sierra and it works just about the same. The SR-1X is mounted on the rear window of the truck, high up near the roof like its supposed to be. The SR-2 is concealed inside the SMC fascia painted with metallic paint and it seems to work about the same. See previously posted picture below.

I have a '94 roadster, and use that antenna on my windshield (behind the rear-view mirror). It's kinda' ugly, but it works VERY well. I've driven the car 14,000 miles in three months with the antenna there, and NO problems. It shows NO inclination to part company with the car.

I don't park the car in bad neighborhoods for long periods of time, but then I never did.
